  1. Yes, they're the same. Actually electric guitar is a bit easier to play in my opinion because the strings are set closer to the neck and you don't have to press down as hard.

  2. the only major differences are the string thickness and the shape of the neck. thats about it, imo

  3. Yes listen there not one thing you could learn and do on the acoustic that you couldn't do on a electric just make sure the electric has good string resistence so you can develop strong fingers. Get the guitar you want this way you'll be more inspired to pick it up and play it.

  4. Everything you learn on the acoustic guitar will be applicable to learning the electric guitar.  It's very important when learning guitar (acoustic or electric) to make sure your guitar has a good "set up".  That means that the guitar is adjusted so it is easy to fret the strings; and it can be tuned properly all along the neck; and it will stay in tune.  Too many beginners struggle with poorly set up guitars that would be hard to play for even an experienced player.  Spend a little money with a good guitar technician to make sure your guitar has a set up that suits you.

Now, electric guitars often are set up with lower "action" that makes them easier to fret for a beginner.  This may be a worthwhile consideration...but a well set up acoustic guitar is very suitable for learning guitar.
