I'm learning to drive and I'm struggling with my gear changes I cant seem to make smooth stops.?

i brake then struggle with changing gear...any advice on how to make the perfect gear change down then stop??

well, if ur going to come to a complete stop, u can put the car in neutral and use the brake, u won;t need any gears

If you are stopping, then just pop it into neutral.  That will give you smooth stop.

I think I'm missing something here....
