Question:

I'm leaving school and going into the real world HELP! please?

Ok, i have 9 months left of school, i realize that sounds like ages but my family including my brother who left school 2 years ago, they all say that i have to prepare.. i have no idea what they mean by this!

all i can think of is finding a full time job

but they say that's one of them but not the only one and they say i have to find it out myself

do any of you lot no what i have to do?

oh btw i am 15 years old and female and i am leaving at the age of 16 (16 and 10 days old LOL)

and i wont go to collage or anything like that because i dont need to

  1. Nine months is actually pretty close. I can understand how it can be stressful especially when there's all the chaos you have to deal with from your peers about what school they are going to go to and all that stuff. The best thing to do is just to sit down and seriously think about what YOU want to do. If you do decide to go to college that's great and if that's not for you that is alright as well. I decided to start working right away but than realized how I hated working minimum wage jobs so I went back to school. When people say its up to you it really is up to you as for what you want to do you just need to think about but don't let it stress you out too much you are still young.  


  2. why don't you "need" to go to college? the job market is getting tougher, and you need some kind of edge over other prospective employees if you want to be hired. at 16 you'll have lots of time to get a 2 year degree or go to a community college, while holding down a part time job. go talk to a guidance counsellor (i know it sounds bad, but some can actually help...) and think about it. don't do anything stupid.
