...consequently my jab is out of this world (my power punch even), but my right is embarrassingly clumsy and weak.

  1. There are a few examples of well-known fighters that I can think of that were left-handed but boxed orthodox:

    Oscar De La Hoya

    Miguel Cotto

    Marco Antonio Barrera

    Carmen Basilio

There are also a few examples that I know of where the boxer was right handed, but fought as a southpaw:

    Marvin Hagler

    Michael Moorer

    Winky Wright

    Manny Pacquiao

  2. If you can fight this way effectively, then it's good for you.  Marvin Hagler was southpaw but he fought orthodox.  Then at crucial stages of a fight, he'd turn southpaw to confuse his opponent, and he was always successful.

  3. Well, Rocky was a southpaw.

  4. I use to fight lke that.

  5. Oscar De  LaHoya & Miguel Cotto are natural South Paw's (lefty) but fight in a Orthodox (right) stance. Zab Judah fights in a southpaw stance but is a natural righty. Many many fighters do this, it is usual for fighters with a week front hand (jab) to switch in order to give them a little more pop in the jab.

Most of all the Philippine fighters with the exception of Manny (not sure) & Ray Bautista are right handed and were changed over to southpaw. Ray fights orthodox.

As far as any greats I couldn't tell you, most of those greats were before my time.
