I've looked up a few cruise lines but they all say that you have to be 21 to cruise alone. But what about the websites that offer spring break cruises for so called "students" do they really assume that everyone who's going is 21??? If anyone can give me some input on this subject I'd really be thankful, I"m kinda on a short leash with time.

  1. Only if you are between 18-21 and have the funds

  2. There are two issues, your age and cruising alone.

All cruise lines except Carnival require that at least one person in each cabin be age 21 or older.  On Carnival that requirement is age 25.  And that applies regardless of whether the ship leaves from a US port or from any other country.   The only exception to this is if you are married and then you must provide a copy of your marriage certificate. And all of the cruise lines do enforce this requirement all of the time and you will have to present positive proof of age, either a birth certificate or a passport.  And you must meet the age requirement on the date that the cruise sails.

Second, all cruise line cabins are sold based on double occupancy; that means two people must sail in each cabin and the only cruise line that will attempt to locate a cabin mate for you is Holland America.  If you want to sail alone in a cabin you will have to pay what's called a "single supplement".  That's essentially about double the cruise fare.

So if you really want to go on a cruise you will need to consider a cruise line other than Carnival, like Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, AND find someone age 21 or older to cruise with you.

  3. Most of the major cruiselines who sail out of US ports require at least one person in the cabin to be 21. Carnival its 25. The only exception is married people. It will also be difficult to find a cruise at this late date. Most people book a cruise 3 to 6 months and some people 9 to12 months. Any cabins left at this point will be the least desirable.
