Question:

I'm liking the idea of having a home sauna?

OK. Although I'd like to have a home sauna, I cannot right now. I was wondering if i could get the same healthful benefits by just leaving the hot water running in my shower. Of course i won't leave it running the whole time because that would be a waste. Is there a better way to do this? What are some other methods of taking a steam bath without having/making a home sauna?

Also I'd love to do this in my own home and not go to a health club.

  1. You may do it with some limited success by buying a shower head that produces a very, very fine mist. You also need to close up the bathroom pretty tightly to keep the steam in.

It is also helpful to use some of the vicks vapor tablets that you put in the shower that disolve and give you that nice eucalyptus scent.

Of course, when you're done everything in your bathroom is super steamed up and dripping. You can minimize that and increase the steam effect by making the shower curtains or doors go all the way to the ceiling. That way only the shower is getting super steamed and the rest of the bathroom isn't quite as bad.
