so, I live with my parents and things in the house keep breaking. My parents just won't fix them. For example; the toilet seat is broken, that now is held together by tie wraps and i have to hold it up when i pee; The door of the cupboard where the plates and things go in the kitchen has broken off; but worst of all, the shower has broke. It has been broken for ages now and they just won't fix it. And they smoke too, so I don't just smell of BO, I smell of BO and smoke, which means I get bullied at school sometimes. These aren't all the things that are broken, just a few examples. I keep asking them to get the things fixed, but they just say they will, but do nothing about it. What should I do?

  1. can u maybe take a BATH instead of a shower?? use the sink as a shower. wear deorant, cologne.

tell ur parents u don't like livubg like a pig!

  2. depends on how old you are. if you are old enough, move.

if not the way i see it you have three options if talking to them does no good.

1 fix some of the stuff yourself.

    2 deal w/ it

3 if you are under aged and it bothers you that bad call social services.

i know this isn't what you want to hear but that about covers it

  3. How old are you? Take charge fix them yourself. Discuss this with your parents and let them know how it makes you feel.

  4. ITS OBVIOUS YOU HAVE A COMPUTER,INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING ABOUT IT GO TO DIY AND SEE HOW TO REPAIR IT AND DO IT YOURSELF.NOT ONLY DO YOU GET RID OF THE BO ,YOU LEARN HOW TO REPAIR THINGS,SO YOU ARE KILLING 2 BIRDS W/ONE STONE

  5. Opportunity time. I don't know how old you are but you have the opportunity to get a manual at any Lowe's or Home depot on how things work or how to fix things around the home and learn to fix things on your own (good luck, maybe your father will help also) this is how we all learn.

  6. If the school is college, maybe they're trying to give you a hint to move out.  If not, maybe you're parents are just unreconstructed 1960's hippies. Don't feel too bad, I have a son and daughter-in-law who live the same way. The grandkids don't like it either and saying anything to their parents accomplishes nothing. Some people just have no pride in themselves or their possessions.
