I'm 6'1 and wondering if these will fit me good. Also if this is a good buy. Everywhere else I look online they are going for 400 and most are discontinued.

  1. Get fit for clubs (length, lie angle, and shaft flex).  That'll help more for you than anything, especially since you're on the tall side.

If you don't wanna buy an expensive first set, go to Pinemeadow.com.  You can get fit online (be honest with yourself), and a set of irons won't cost more than $180!  You really can outfit yourself with the works (driver, fairway woods, hybrid, irons and wedges) for less than most "big name" iron sets.

  2. They are a solid club set. As far as fit, everyone really should get fitted professionally for iron and putter lie angles.

But, if I remember right, Adams uses a bit more upright angle than most manufacturers, so at 6'1" that might help you.

  3. they're an OK set.  Real basic starters set.  If you're buying your 1st set of clubs, I'd suggest NOT doing it online until you've swung clubs at a retailer like Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy, or your local pro shop.  Eat club offers something different.  I suggest cavity back clubs that are forgiving and have a bigger head.  The only drawback on this is once you start to get comfortable with the swing Callaway X-16's, Lynx Crystal Cats, or even the Mizuno MX line.  But of course, you won't know how each hits and feels until you swing each club.  The worst thing that you can do is buy a set of clubs online before trying them.  Every manufacturer and even each set of clubs is created differently.  They'll adjust you for the proper lie, face angle & length.  Those are all really important to really improve your game.

  4. Please save yourself a lot of struggle and heart ache.  Get a professional fitting from your friendly PGA Professional.

  5. Golf clubs are probably the worst investment you can make for the simple fact new clubs come out at least every year if not more. There is always something new so you can get a really good set of clubs that's only a few years old and at a fraction of the price. You just have to be patient in finding them. I suggest you either look in the paper or even go to a local club someone may have gotten a new set and want to get rid of their old ones. Good luck

  6. The guy above me is exactly right; make sure they're gonna help YOUR game.  Buying golf clubs is tough because everybody wants the latest and greatest piece of technology.  Make sure you try different types of clubs and find whatever works best for you.  It doesn't matter what anybody else is using, just do what's gonna help you shoot better scores.

I hope that if you're spending good money on brand new clubs, you're taking or have already taken some lessons.  A good instructor will help you more than a new golf club ever could.

    Hit 'em straight!

  7. They are OK.  Looks like the style is a couple of years old.  Technology changes every year.

Have you tried swinging them in a store?  If not, then I would suggest going to a store or pro where you can see what works for you.
