The seller is a "Lt. in the USAF" stationed in the UK. He said he wants $3500 for shipping and the purchase price. Which is rediculously low, how can I go about following up to make sure i'm not going to get ripped off...it has a clean carfax report.brush this car away just because it seems too good to be true even if it is. I just want to find a way to make it safe for me to get the car, or atleast follow this through to make sure if it is a scam i can alert the proper authorities

I don't want to

  1. Scam.

Funny, they always put $3500 or $3200 as the price. They're always in the military, divorcing, or "moving overseas". Did they also offer to pay for shipping? Did they mention using some kind of "Buyer's Protection Plan" or "eBay PaySafe" or similar? Did they offer to let you keep the car for 5-7 days to test it, and offered to let you send it back if you don't like it?

    Scam.

    Scam.

    Scam.

*EDIT*- Sure, reply back and tell the "seller" that you're not comfy buying through his method, and offer to purchase only through a face-to-face. He won't reply. He wants that quick sale from the gullible fool. These folks are all overseas, and they move around quickly.

  2. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM...

  3. SCAM. This scam is tried over and over. There is no car and the "seller" is no "Lt. in the Air Force". He or she is just a common thief looking to rip you off. People need to use common sense when they see these listings. If it seems too good to be true....IT IS. If you believe there is even a shred of truth to their story, I feel sorry for you. The best thing to do is report the information to the FBI internet crime division.
