I'm looking for a FREE dvd ripper that converts to other formats also?

I want a FREE dvd ripper, no free trials. I also want one that can convert to .avi. Thank you very much for your help.

Use handbrake(free)

or aimersoft dvd ripper, I use it for a long time, it can easily convert dvd to other video audio formats with high quality, that's really nice, you can check them out here for free

Handbrake:

convert dvd to MP4, MKV, AVI, OGM, AAC, MP3 etc.

But hard to handle on windows OS.

copy dvd files to pc, but have no subtitle and audio track option and cannot convert vob to other video.

If you wanna do it for your media player, you need a video converter to conver vob video...

NOTE: this programme cannot work on windows vista.

in my personal experience,the freeware always have some problems

more or less.its quality can not be guaranteed, i always use ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum, It enables rip DVD to VCD, DVD to DivX, DVD to MPEG, DVD to WMV, DVD to AVI, DVD to WMA, DVD to MP3 easily and quickly with excellent image/sound quality.. it's not free, but it works pretty well, I think it well worth the money, If you need more info, here you can free download it
