  1. Take $5,000 off that price and it's good to go.  Price is way too high for a used boat.   Any way you turn it, it is a used boat.  I don't care if the owner never used it, once it leaves the dock or showroom, it is a used boat.  Boats have a low resale value unless they are top of the line.  Searay, Bertram, etc.   Size and equipment matters when it comes to boats and price.   Good Luck,  you would be better off buying a brand new boat with a full warranty.  At the boat show they will inlclude a lot of factory extras for free.

  2. I found a brand new 2008 20' model w/a 40HP Suzuki 4 stroke for $15946, and a brand new 2008 22' with a 60HP Suzuki for $18159: http://www.leisurekraft.net

$16300 sounds a little high for a pre-owned Leisure Kraft. Boats, just like cars, lose tremendous value as soon as they leave the showroom.

You might also want to find out if the boat is still covered under warranty. I know some pontoon warranties are non-transferrable, so it might be worth it to spend a little more money for a brand new model with a full warranty.

Also, it's boat show season and a lot of engine manufacturers offer additional years of warranty for free on new boats (for example, Yamaha is currently running a promo offering an additional 3 years on certain HP outboards.)

I'm not too familiar with Leisure Kraft pontoons, but most pontoons are pretty similar in features and qualities. I would definitely at least look at some new models before you make your final decision.
