Tell me prices, whether it uses gas (if so how much--in comparison with regular cars), and anything else too. Thanks.

  1. Go with the upcoming JEtta TDI clean burning diesel. No pesky harmful batteries to dispose of later on.

  2. Vw,or Mercedes diesel run on biodiesel.VW 50 mpg Mercedes 37 mpg.

  3. Right now the best is the Prius.  Base model costs $21k.  It gets about 50 mpg, so gas costs about 8 cents per mile (for $4/gallon gas).  In comparison, if you have a 30 mpg car, gas costs 13.3 cents per mile.  So if you drive 10,000 miles per year, you're saving $533 per year on gas.

Another option in the near future is fully electric cars.  The first affordable highway speed EV is about to come out in June '08 - the Green Vehicles Traic.

It will be able to go 80 mph, 100 miles per charge, and cost $20k.  EVs cost about 2-3 cents per mile to recharge, so you're talking about saving over $1,000 per year on fuel.

  4. A bicycle is best for you and the environment. In Seattle, we have bio-deseil cars with fueling stations. Electric is also an option for those who live in flat areas and do not commute more than about 20-30 miles per day.

  5. hybrid.

  6. Get a hybrid car as there good for the environment

  7. A hybird, or an electric. Electric cars I think are rare now. There are also cars that run on veggie oil, or grease.

  8. Get a bike if you close to where you work.Or if you work farther away get a Hybrid

  9. 2 hybrids I know are the Toyota Prius and the new Honda Civic.

Don't know about prices or anything for the US.
