Incandescent bulbs are the best according to the research before and these Eye Saver bulbs are special for people with bad eyes and specifically people with Macular Degeneration.

Eye Saver is an incandescent bulb. NASA conducted research with other light sources but found the incandescent light bulb is the best light source for this application because it produces the maximum amount of light with less glare.

halogen is more efficient and compact, although does generate some heat. Incadescents should always be avoided when possible.

Halogen bulbs are brighter and use less electricity than the standard bulb. I personally like the halogen bulb because it is brighter and easier to read and do my homework.
