People may not understand the abbreviation.

India is a safe and a beautiful country.

Indian culture is unique;  but diversified too.

There is Southern India -  Dravidian culture

People speak four different languages.

But you can manage with English as English is

spoken and understood.

Cities: Chennai,Bangalore,Trivandrum & Hyderabad.

Western India -  Provinces of Maharashtra & Gujarat

Cities:  Mumbai (Bombay ) &  Ahmadabad

North India  -    New Delhi, Chandigardh, Amritasaras (Punjab),   Shree Nagar  (Kashmir)

East India   -  Kolkatta ( Calcutta). Bengal

Local flights are plenty. Cover all over India

Not very expensive in terms of USD.

Railways connect almost all the cities.

AC I, AC II & First Class ( also non a/c 2nd class)

sleepers can be reserved in advance.

You must prepare your itinerary.

Continetal flies to New Delhi from NY.

So also Air India.

Most of the International flights reach several destinations

in India from the US with a stop over and or a transfer'

Consult a travel agency for routing.

After reaching India , approch India Tourism Development Board.  They will help you or otherwise any travel agency

in Indian cities will guide you and reserve your travelling arrangements too.

Star Hotels are as expensive as they are in USA.

You can find inexpensive accommodations.

You can stay in YMCA in Mumbai & New Delhi.

In expensive.  Tariff includes breakfast & dinner, both

vegetarian & non-veg - continental & Indian cuisine

YMCA,New Delhi has a travel desk.

(Pls note - Hindu temples prohibit entry of non hindus

inside the temple premises).  There is no racial discrimination anywhere in India

DAY-2 Take taxi for Delhi sightseen-(Red fort,Birla mandir , Jama masjid,Qutub minar,India gate ,Lotus temple,and Parliament house etc.after sightseening .dinner at a decent retaurent.and stay at hotel.
