I am looking for a specific type of brownie recipe. They use to sell these brownies in a small tin, mabye 6 x 8 at A & P's. If you break one of these in half, there are no crumbs, but it is not "gooey" either. It is more the constistency of fudge. I'm not sure if they are frosted or not. I'd appreciate any help, I'm making these for my mother's suprise 80th birthday party.

  1. Found this Tollhouse brownie recipe at this site, along with a few other chocolate dessert recipes:

    Tollhouse Golden Brownies

    3/4 c Margarine, softened

    3 Eggs

    3/4 c Sugar

    2 c Unsifted flour

3/4 c Packed dark brown sugar

    2 ts Baking powder

    1 ts Vanilla

    1 ts Salt

    1 c Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

Add the flour, baking powder and salt, and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread the batter evenly in a well-greased 9″x13″ pan. Test the batter. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.

I've made these myself and they're not crumbly at all.

  2. I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but my family loves these brownies.  They're Double Chocolate Brownies from Martha Stewart - here is the link.
