  1. I have a 2004 Toyota Prius.  It has over 100K miles on it, I have never had to do any repairs on this vehicle outside of regular maintenance.  I'm still using the original brakes, second set of tires, original battery.  My current tank of fuel is averaging just over 50MPG (car provides real time feedback on MPG/fill-up).

Car has been 100% reliable.  I was very skeptical of the technology when I originally purchased the car, not anymore.  I highly recommend this vehicle for a commuter, getting around town car.  No good if you need to haul big things or lots of people/kids.

I plan to replace it with another Prius when the time comes.  I have 4 additional family members who also own a the Prius, their experience is similar to mine.  Of the 5 of us, my car has the most miles and is the oldest.

  2. Honda Civic.  I got great mileage on mine, easy to maintain and there's tons of parts out there for them.

  3. Chevrolet Malibu.

    22 mpg city / 30 mpg highway

JD Power highest ranked mid-size car in initial quality

North American International Auto Show car of the year

Kelley Blue Book 2008 best family vehicle & 2008 best redesigned vehicle

    Several other awards

    5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty

    5 year / 100,000 mile roadside assistance

    On Star

  4. Toyota Carolla, I had one for 6 years and it was a great car, the new ones get 35mpg.
