Im looking to find a basic math course that is NOT online because the computer hurts my eyes and I think I'd learn better from a book ect. I'm just looking to learn math in my free time because I've always been really bad at math and want to learn it so i can go to college. A math book that contains tests, quizzes, worksheets, step by step examples, and thoroughly teaches me each concept. It also needs to include some kind of answer manuel so I can check over my work. I just want the best course you know of and am willing to pay the price to learn math. I dont care how extensive the program is because the bigger the better. It just means Ill better learn math. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! I seriously need the best program. Im sooo bad at math and am willing to try as hard as possible to learn. Thanks in advance for your assistance! :)

  1. I am not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to math but Saxon was much easier than other curriculum I tried.  It has lots of review so you won't forget things and then builds on the reviewed concepts to introduce new problems.  Good luck!

  2. Try saxon math.  They are well written so that you can follow through the lessons to learn on your own.

    Good luck :D

  3. My daughter is totally math-phobic, but Saxon seems to work for her.

You might also want to try the "Demystified" books from McGraw-Hill.   I would suggest "Pre-Algebra Demystified", and then go on to the Algebra Demystified, etc.  They also have "Geometry Demystified", etc. too.

  4. A great math course would be from Abeka. They have consumer math, and business math. Go to www.abeka.org.  They have quizzes, tests, textbooks, and the answer keys to all the work so you can check your progress.

  5. What we do is get an old Prentice Hall or HArcourt book off of ebay and use www.nutshellmath.com to explain the problems. Usually the answers for the odd numbered problems are in the back of the book. Be sure to get a textbook listed on nutshell.

You didn't say what grade level you are, but Calvert has a great program. It only goes up to 8th grade though.
