I want a microphone for a Canon HV20, which has no XLR inputs, and I hope to spend less than $100. It must be a stereo mic, and I would prefer it to be a shotgun mic, or something similar (good for picking up sound in front of the camera, and not so much from behind the camera). It should come with a wind screen, and I (obviously) don't want the microphone to have any sort of humming or background noise.

If anyone knows of such a microphone, than please help me out. Again, try not to exceed $100 unless their aren't any cheap mics like I've described. Thank you for your time.

  1. The only two stereo mics in your price range that are halfway decent come from NRG Research (SA-800) or Audio-Technica (ATR25).

The ONLY 2 stereo shotgun mics of which I am aware are from RODE and Sennheiser - and both are out of your price range.

You can add XLR to your camcorder with a BeachTek DXA-6. I use one on my Sony HDR-HC1 with an Audio-Technica AT825.
