My girlfriend and I are having an anniversary come up, and I've been thinking about proposing. I wanted to do something special and romantic (last year we went to an expensive restaurant overlooking SD harbor and the skyline). This year I wanted something a bit more intimate, so I thought a picnic at night overlooking the city would be great.

It doesnt have to be in SD, I'm actually in North County. I have it all planned out, music, food, flowers, (flameless) candles... I just need the location.

  1. Mt. Soledad in La Jolla summer nights are sooooooooooo nice there (i"m not sure what time they close or even if they close but the view is breath taking not to mention theres that beautiful cross)

also Mt. Helix in El Cajon

  2. Centennial Park and Tidelands Park sit on the bay side of Coronado, connected by a shoreline promenade. Centennial Park is a grassy park with a small sandy beach and a rose garden. Adjacent to the park is Old Ferry Landing, the location for catching the ferry to San Diego, and Ferry Landing Marketplace. The market is lined with galleries, boutiques, and restaurants.

Tidelands Park is a 22-acre tree-shaded grassland park on the northeast corner of Coronado. The bay front park has a sandy beach, picnic tables, and a walking/biking path that skirts the bay, passing under the towering Coronado Toll Bridge. http://efgh.com/bike/sdb5.jpg
