I'm looking for a good steakhouse in So Cal.

Question

I live in Orange County, CA and I'm looking for a good steak house that has decent enough prices. Farthest I'm willing to go out is about an hour and a half any direction from Aliso Viejo.

Trabuco Oaks steakhouse. Excellent steak. You need reservations, not because its fancy but because its so popular , its actually a very casual place to eat. They cook the steak on an actually grill outside. Just go straight up Chapman through Santiago Canyon. Its a bit twisty but its so worth it.

Good steakhouses in OC are Mastro's and Turner New Zealand ...

I don't know if the prices will fit your bill, but worth checking it out ..

It's been years but back in my road warrior days I tried a place just off the 55. I spotted it once coming out of John Wayne. It was on the north side and built with that country look. While I was eating I could hear "Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head" being sung by B. J. Thomas.

In those 14 years there were very few standout places, this is in the top 3. I cut thru the filet, about 2" thick, with a fork. Mind ya it took a little wrist action but I did not have to hold the plate and shake the table.

Don't remember the name or know if it is still in business. I have no 2nd choice down there. Would have to send you to Phoenix for that.

Lawry's is my favorite. It's in Beverly Hills.

Pacific Dining car is also good.

one that i know of would be kani house. there are about 4 of them in south carolina.

northwoods on the 5 freeway it;s in the buena park area. great steaks reasonable prices (went to ruth cris' it was very overpriced)

Houston's in Manhattan Beach is very good.
