I'm looking for a good underwater digital camera for under $250.00?

I can't seem to find anything...would it be better just to get a waterproof camera housing for the camera I already have?

Check the Olympus Stylus SW series of cameras. They are waterproof to 10 feet (at least 1 model to 33 feet) and shockproof to a 5 foot drop. Likely cheaper than a housing for your present camera.

No, you don't have to get an underwater housing for your current camera, olympus makes a camera that isn't only waterproof, it's shockproof and freezeproof, and it much more durable.

there it is, that's the olympus 790SW digital camera, which can do everything i listed above, oh, and did i mention it has image stabilization ?. you need to get this camera
