I'm looking for a great place to visit in Mexico next Jan or Feb?

Question

I've been to many cities before, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Ixtapa. Ixtapa is my favorite because there is less tourists and it's more relaxed. I’m not going to party just want a nice hotel to sit on the beach and drink margaritas and Pacifico's all day. Anyone have some good suggestions

I recommend Cancun of course to visit Chichenitza one of the new 7 Wonders in the world, beautiful beaches and fun but if you went in the past it is ok, check the site :)

The best and most relaxing place I have ever been to in Mexico was Ensanada.  The best hotel there was called Las Rosas.  Go to www.lasrosas.com and take a look.

if you are not looking for the tipical beach resort, I strongly recommend Guadalajara.  The historical center is breath taking, even compared to European cities and there are many things to do.

Cozumel is so beautiful its the island off of Cancun, but Ixtapa is very beautiful. Puerto Varta is good place too, umm any of those are awesome. I would avoid Cancun though , sounds like allot of fun!!

Maybe you should expand your vacation perimeter.  Try a new country.  Or go to Hawaii.  Looks like you done what you can in Mexico.

Pie de la Cuesta is a 30 min drive north of Acapulco and is a deserted HUGE beach. Some waves hit 25 ft ! Just a magical laid back spot with Acapulco next door.

I live in Acapulco and go to Pie de la Cuesta every day. They have a lagoon across the main street and I have my boat and jet skii there. once those things kick my butt, I get lunch , walk across the strret and down the ally way's to the beach and kick back. Not a sole in sight. Just deserted !

I agree Ixtapa is beautiful !!!   Been there many times.

I think Pie de la Cuesta and Acapulco might be up your ally .

Ixtapa though beautiful is laid out for tourist's. acapulco is too but Pie de la Cuesta has yet to be discovered. You can actually hear the birds and not car horns...........

Beach is about 50 yards wide and goes for as far as the eye can see without a sole in sight !

Google it and you tube has some videos. Just a magical spot that tourists havent invaded yet.
