Dear Hiring Manager,

I read your job posting for an Administrative Assistant on Monster.com with interest. I am currently seeking full time employment and I would like to give you a brief evaluation of myself. I am a highly self-motivated person. I am a hard worker and fast learner who also like challenges. I am able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. I take pride in my work which makes me very confident in what I do.

In the past 7 years, prior to a reduction in force at my last employer, I provided administrative support to a collection’s team that consist of a senior manager, 2 regional managers and a team of 15 analysts. I coordinated small departmental events and meetings as well as several departmental moves within the facility. I am computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and other related office equipment.

  1. If I was hiring and received this letter, I'd call you and invite you in for an interview.

Your letter is very well written and has already told me how you view yourself with confidence, what you have a background in and your experiences, as well as why you're on the market.  The only additional thing I'd need would be your resume (possibly), and an interview to see if our personalities and my job requirement for you - fit.

One correction I'd put in, thought.  In the second paragraph the phrase "support to a collection’s team that consist of a senior manager, 2 regional managers and"  -  the collection team either consists of or consisted of - not consist of.  I'm sure that's just a typo you missed, but it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Use your letter!  It's very good, and will get attention!
