Question:

I'm looking for a laptop that is cheap, but not crappy...?

I originally wanted the macbook but i really don't have the money or the time to get the money, and there are laptops a third the price

Any recommendations on a cheaper laptop (but i am slightly nervous that something cheap may also be kind of cruddy)

  1. Well the cheapest laptops on the market would be Acer but you should probably stay away from them. I'd recommend going with an HP and possibly a Toshiba. You can usually find a good machine from these brands at about 600-700 dollars. Just go onto their websites and customize a laptop to get a good idea of the price.


  2. I have the HP Pavilion dv6000, bought at Wal-Mart for just over $600 with tax. I LOVE it. It will play most of my games, though many of them I have to crank down the graphics a bit as it doesn't have an onboard video card, but it does have 3G of RAM, 2.00 GHz processor, and about 80G of hard drive space (but it is easy to use a USB external hard drive.)

    The internet browsing is SUPER FAST on dsl, either plugged in or wireless. I highly recommend it!

  3. The best laptop for the price would be the new Dell Inspiron.

    I believe the cheapest one is only $499.00.

    They are great laptops, and they also come in tons of nice colors.!
