I'm looking into buying a new cage for my Syrian. But I've looked at Petco and Petsmart and I can't find a cage that I think is bigger than the one she has now. Please don't recommend a homemade bin cage. I'd like to see some links to cages that is large, suitable for a Syrian, and has multiple levels. Nothing way to expensive.

Thanks!

Thanks!

  1. I know you said not to recommend a homemade bin cage, but why not?  Then you can make the cage as big as you want and make any alterations.  I have bin cages for all of my gerbils and they love it.

Anyway, why not go for a 10 gallon aquarium ($10) and then buy one of those cage toppers?  It is metal and comes with a ladder to go up to the second and third levels.  Quite nice.  Those run about $30 at Petsmart.

  2. try looking for small rat cages with bar spacing not more than half an inch.  the only problem is that they can get pretty expensive

  3. I use a wire cage for my hamsters, but I can't remember who makes it, though.  If you can't find one at a store you like, you should check out ebay or find a way to order online.  Check out thrift stores, too!  (Just make sure to clean it REALLY well.)  Avoid tubey-things, and pay more attention to levels and how much floor space there is.

  4. I have a syrian hamster also and i bought a critter trail cage for him and it is very cool because your can buy additions and such. Mine was 16 dollars on sale

I suggest looking for a cage that is used for more then one hamster.. therefore it would be bigger. Good luck
