I'm looking for a new video card?

hey, i'm looking for a new video card. for hardcore gaming. I'm a bit weird but i rather FPS than graphics, I'm sick of all the fps lag from when i play call of duty 4, on low graphics. the card i have now at the moment is a "NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT". and I'm looking for a new card, in a sensible price range, and a card that gives me better performance and more fps. I'm trying to stick with nVidia ( since im familier with them ) but anything else is also good.

Best nVidia card but fair in price is nVidia GeForce 9800GX2. (GDDR3 memory)

Best nVidia card but too expensive is nVidia Geforce GTX 280 (GDDR3 memory)(it ran crysis with 49 fps)

Best ATI card fair in price is Radeon HD 4870 (GDDR5 memory) (much better than nvidia 9800 GX2, it ran crysis at 46 fps in same conditions)

Best ATI card but too expensive is Radeon HD 4870x2 (dual GPU solution with GDDR5 memory). Absolute powerhouse! It beats nvidia's best card Geforce GTX 280, 80 % more powerful than it!!
