A friend and I go out for dinner at least once a week so we can catch up, but we’re getting tired of going to the same places week after week. Does anyone know of any good eateries that are reasonably priced in and around the CBD?

  1. The Red Dragon in Chinatown is good.

  2. There's a cool little cafe called Time Out at Federation Square. For a nice Saturday afternoon, go first to Transport just across from it, have a glass of wine, then across to Time Out for a meal. They're mostly quite light but it's an ace spot to watch the world go by. The salmon pizza is great.

Block Place just off Little Collins(between Elizabeth & Swanston) is also full of great little restaurants. Well worth trying a few out.

China Town(Little Bourke Street) is a good one to wander down & let a randon spruiker pull you in off the street. Some of them are fun.

Also on Collins just up the hill from Town Hall there is Cafe D'Orsay, which is great & a little further along a little passage that leads to a marvellous Tepannyaki restaurant.

Oh & there are some really nifty little eateries in the little lanes around QVB(corner of Lonsdale & Swanston)

All of these are great nights out, although China Town can depend on your taste & mood.

    Good luck!
