It needs to be relatively cheap, not too powerful and most of all, RELIABLE

  1. If your going to have a competition that involves breaking one, get a mercury, you will come in 1st.


  2. Honda is great in the small outboards, Yamaha also and so is Merc.

  3. you cant go wrong with a Yamaha

    i have been driving this one Yamaha for 15 years and it is still going

    Honda is the next best when it comes to small motors

  4. no new outboard motors are cheap.

    decide size/power you need. 9.9 or 2.0hp

    then try to find a used Yamaha.
