**also, i've snowboarded a handful of times for 3 seasons maybe 3-5 times. (I'm nothing near Intermediate or pro..I'm scared of falling!! lol) anyway I also dont know if I'm goofy foot or regular. when i surf i'm goofy foot, but when i snowboard i sometimes go down regular.. is this normal and does that mean I'm regular on the snow?

  1. Please ignore the "to the chin" sizing comments - that is only a rule of thumb and doesn't take into account weight, ability and the type of riding you plan to do.

Guessing that you want to ride mostly groomed runs while you learn, I would say about 143cm. Use a calculator like this one and it will even give you suggested boards:

I would recommend Ride or K2 boards. The K2 Luna or K2 Skyla, or the Ride Grace would both be excellent boards to learn and improve on. These can be found on clearance now!

If you are pretty sure that you are going to do tricks in the park you could start with a "twinish" board which will work on the runs and better in the park:

I would ride the same direction you surf but try to go the other way (switch) as much a possible.

    Good Luck

  2. depending on what you want to focus on...speed or tricks will determine the size of board you want....shorter for tricks and longer for speed.  my thought on your stance is that you are probably goofy since you surf in that stance.
