Of course I'd like to get the best value for my dollar - I'm looking to spend around $500.00 if possible, but am willing to spend more. It will be used mostly for filming family activities - so for recording memories :)

  1. don't go with HD.  All you need is a decent SD camera.

consumer cameras are not true HD, they are HD codecs if they use tape and if they shoot on hard drive then your footage is already compressed and there is quality loss.  There's too much hype about HD that really isn't true.

For just filming family stuff, a good SD camera is enough.  It'll be cheaper and last you a long time and your footage will still look good.

  2. There alots of HD Camcorder here is one under $300 thats right .. with 5MP picture quality  here is the link : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...  hope thats what your looking for its 720P  HD  which is good if your looking for a full 1080P you'll have to go over $1000 or wait about 1 year or soo  GOOD LUCK

  3. I personally love the canon hg 10. Its really easy to use and records great. You not going to find an hd camera these days for 500 unless its either used or refurbished. Check out this deal i got.
