Today, when I came home to my flat,I found two books on my bed,WHICH I HAD NOT LEFT THERE.I admit it,it scared me.I'm wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences. Is there an explanation, because I swear that I did not touch,or even think about those books before I went out this morning. They are my books, but I know I did not leave them on my bed!Am I being silly? Is there some kind of "forgetfulness" that you can be totally unaware of?Could this be some sort of "paranormal" experience?Incidentally, the two books were;A biography of a well-known psychic(who may or may not be genuine),and a biography of a contract killer(now deceased).I would like to know your opinions on my strange (and rather unsettling experience).Have you ever had a similar experience?

Incidentally,I do not take drugs, and I very rarely consume alcohol.

  1. This is just another idea. The other day someone posted an experience that they had where her husband was sitting at the kitchen table..but she didn't/couldn't "see" him .She went all over the house looking for him. Finally..I think she called for him and he had been sitting at the table the whole time.

I think that there's something that causes us to be "blinded" sometime. Lately , I was looking for something in the kitchen for a long time and couldn't find it till it was pointed out to me. It was right in front of me.

Those books could have been there before you left and you didn't "see" them. Also..a few years ago..somebody left me a coupon on my desk. It had been there a few days..but I didn't see it..till I prayed for help ..and opened my eyes and there was a coupon for the thing I prayed for. For real! A friend said she had put it there a few days before I saw it.

I doubt you slept with those books on your bed the night before..but you might have and didn't realize it.

At least ..be comforted a little that it happens to others too.

Wait a few days..I'll bet a friend or family member will tell you that they put them on your bed.

  2. The book fairy came to visit.  She figured you were not doing enough reading and made a strategic placement to encourage literacy about psychic and criminal phenomenae.  It could be a subtle message that she knows what you are thinking, and it's not good, ooh.

  3. i have experienced this very same thing, i am very forgetful and i mean so forgetful. i have put my car keys somewhere then spent ages looking for them like crazy then i spot them somewhere grinning at me almost like they were there all the time.

i personally think we just get so busy and preoccupied we may just forget what we did for a sec. i havent researched it but there maybe something like momentary amnesia!!!

i would be really freaked out too, especially if you live alone.

my husband thinks im nuts coz i always say there are little goblins who come in my house and move things around to annoy me. personally i think im forgetful,

in your case paranormal activity?? i dont know, who are we to rule it out? has it happened to you before?>

has anything happened recently in your life that may have prompted you/paranormal being to point out these books for you to read again? if that makes sense? like maybe your subconcious/or paranormal intervention is trying to point something out.

i really dont know, hope this helps, im probably babbling again as i usually do!!

    take care

  4. I once couldn't find my housekeys anywhere..

Then we found them outside in the front door key hole..

  5. Sounds like you have a brain tumor.  Or maybe multiple personalities.  Maybe "Not Me" from Family Circus did it.

  6. I would not freak out on this sort of event.

Apart from the fact that you might not have a good short term memory, there is the issue of wakefulness.

My wife is notorious in our family for moving things around, when she is tired, or not fully awakened. I spend a lot of time in the mornings putting things back in their proper place, before she gets stressed, 'cos she can't find them!

  7. For it to have been paranormal you are suggesting something like a spirit which has no true physical form must have moved those books which is clearly impossible.

Either you put them there, someone else put them there, you are imaging they are there or you are lying about them being there.

Or you are in the wrong apartment :D

  8. It's the book fairy, watch out, tonight she'll be back for your teeth.

  9. Maybe that psychic knows that the deceased man was innocent.

  10. It might be you just forgot, or you got burgled or someone you know came into your flat and moved stuff around. There could be many explainations but the most likely is that you just forgot, although that it just a bit freaky...:-D

  11. Has anyone else got a key?

    Ex girlfriend,builder,family?

If not then I'd be scared but only because someone I didn't know had obviously been in my house.

  12. noisey thug are sk8er neighbors keep breaking in they look for intelegence thats all the best thing is dont let it bug you if you got nothing to hide they will are sopost to keep to ther code from the book s laid out ther basicley asking a question  are you magic are you killer or you a cop or agent the thugs are like detive wannabe ther profiling skills suck how do i know they break in to my house all the time  i gotnothing to hide but i know it pisses you off just ignore it get a dog are a security system dont be a rat like i said ther found you interesting and thugs are nosey by nature

  13. were they open on certain pages, if so maybe it's a spirit trying to tell you something, if not look at the titles, is there a message there?  i don't rule out the impossibilty of anything, because this world is full of many mysteries that we haven't even begun to understand.

i find it unlikely someone would break into your flat and move only 2 things about. unless you have a psycho or a jokester in your life messing around with you.

perhaps you were half asleep and moved them yourself, but you seem to not think so and you know yourself better than anyone on here could possibly know you.

  14. No drugs or alcohol and no one has accused you of mental illness yet all the YA skeptics must be away.

It is weird but it is most likely not paranormal.

First, I didn't see anything in your questions detail that eliminated other people being in or having access to your house or the books I would start there.

Second, other answers have brought up both being forgetful (this can increase with stress in life or with rushing) and not being fully awake/alert (before that morning coffee at work or school) and I agree that both of these are possibilities.

Third, this was a one time event (it seems from your question) and one time events are very difficult to investigate and explain and I don't think this should really cause you any distress.

Fourth, if it becomes a pattern then it might be paranormal and further investigation (even if it turns out to have a normal explanation) would certainly be justified.

  15. You probably did it, but it probably wasn't a purposeful action.

If you're looking for something - keys, phone, money, etc, you can misplace and move other items without really thinking about it (almost not consciously) -- you are so focussed on finding the item in question, that all other actions hardly 'register' with you, and so don't remain in your memory.

For instance, if you are holding a set of keys, and the phone rings downstairs, you'll be so pre-occupied with getting to the phone, that you often just lay the keys down in a very random place. After the phonecall, you can have no memory at all of where you put the keys... because it was an almost semi-conscious and non-purposeful action.

  16. read the books, they may give you the answers to something.
