  1. Gift certificate at Nordstroms

  2. I say the starbucks card -even if it is just $5.00. I teach preschool, and I would gain 50 pounds every christmas if I ate all the cookies I got from parents!- NO COOKIES! Also someone said- books or something for the classroom- excuse me- this is a gift for the teacher, not the school. Teachers get paid so low- the christmas gifts are one of the great perks of the job!

Thanks for being concerned about finding the right gift!

  3. I would say flowers...the teacher has the option of leaving them in the classroom or taking them home...they will look great at either place and the teacher will have time to enjoy them without worrying about what to do with them after the holidays.

If there are several teachers, a few for each is fine...I love it when I receive one rose from my students and they feel happy to have handed it to me.

  4. If they're the type who will be working in daycare for a long while yet, they'd probably like to receive age-appropriate kids' books, durable toys, or other items for the classroom. (Teachers get overwhelmed with stuff they don't really need, like coffee mugs, stationery, and other small impersonal gifts.)

If you want it to be something more personal, how about baking something with the "help" of your little one?

  5. You have lots of options to give her teachers.  You could go the giftcard route for somewhere that is close to the center and that the teachers could use during the day or on their way to work (starbucks or another local coffee place, gas station gift cards for coffee or snacks, gift certificate to a local attraction or restaurant).  Instead of bringing them cookies or baked goods, how about have your daughter color a certificate that is good for one lunch (pizza or Chinese maybe) that you can call in and have delivered.  If you don't want to go with food, try picture frames that you and your daughter can decorate that has the year, thank you, and her name on it, if possible put a picture of your daughter and her teachers in it, its always great to be able to remember kids that all that time was spent with years from now.  A Christmas tree ornament is also a good suggestion, have your daughter pick out ones that she likes.

You could also go to Bath and Body works and get moisturizing antibaterial soaps and lotions that her teachers can use since they have to wash their hands so often while working with children.

If you want to do something totally different you might get them each a disposable camera and a gift card for a film developing place that they can use on the day of the winter/holiday party in their room.

Be creative, look around at stores like walmart and target.  They have lots of great inexpensive gift ideas, and remember that anything that your child helps with will be special to her teachers!

  6. The cheapest present would be a nice picture frame from the Dollar tree-you could even take a picture of the class and put in it.

Another gift would be to buy coffee mugs or small glass containters at the dollar tree or old time pottery and put candy inside; Tie a nice ribbon on and you have a great gift.

This year i spent a little more than normal on the teachers.  Bath and Body had their plug-ins for $5.00, so that is what I am giving.  I love the plug-ins.

  7. christmas mugs or candy

  8. Homemade Christmas cookies or $5 gift to restaurant or mall.

  9. I work in childcare and many of the parents give Star bucks gift cards. I don't drink coffee, but I enjoy getting other products from there, so its a great gift for even non coffee drinkers. Also, lotions, chocolates, candles, etc. I get all those things every year. I use them all too. For lotions, I prefer smaller bottles. Teachers will most likely keep lotions in their classrooms to use because if they wash their hands enough they have dry hands during the winter. Small amounts are better because they will be getting a lot of it this time of year. To avoid over stocking them with lotion get a smaller bottle. Another good gift is a picture of your child. If you get holiday pictures, you could give them a card and picture in side. I get those and I have some in my wallet still from past students. They are something they can keep with out taking up space and remember your child after they leave their class.

  10. candy, chocolates, flowers anything from a student to a teacher they will really like, cuz they know it is from the heart.

  11. I would give them a "teacher" ornament.  I still have some after 20 years of teaching.  A book mark. mouse-pad, or homemade cookies would also suffice.

  12. we used to give them like homemade cards.  like scrapbooking stuff....birthday and for other occasions...

  13. Baked cookies!

  14. Go to like Hobby Lobby or Dollar Store or something and give them an ornament. Maybe even bake some cookies and give them each like 1/2 dozen cookies and an ornament that is cute. My mom used to even buy the clear ornaments and fill them with some sparkle and that stuff that you put as icicles on the trees inside and then with a metallic marker write something nice on it. They always liked it and it was inexpensive. Don't overthink it, the daycare teachers aren't expecting anything and will be grateful anyway! Food is always good because there is a good chance they will get cluttered with all sorts of inexpensive, but thoughtful, little gifts that they will have no place for! :o) The thought is what really counts!

  15. You can give them a gift card to Target or walmart...starbucks.

  16. If they are not allergic to perfume, give them something for the bath, such as a nice bubble bath or body wash.

  17. A small jar candle would be nice.  Also, most people like small bottles of bath gel, hand wash, etc from Bath and Body. A nice box of  candy or box of fancy cookies.
