I'm looking for any ECE's who have started their own home daycare?

Would you recommend it? How many children do you have in your care? Would you mind trading emails with me to answer a few more questions I have?

I am an ECE and I own my own daycare center. It is not in my home but in a school. I rather like it this way because if it was in my own home, my home would take abuse and wear and tear everyday. I would feel like I want to leave it after work. Having a daycare in your own home means you do not have other adults to talk to, no breaks, and burn out happens faster. No matter what, the provider should not have more than 5 children under the age of 5, including her own, in her care.

I also teach in our college early childhood education program.
