my grandfather name was benito tristan and his wife was martina martinez from this area . He was a large land owner who lost all during the revolution in the early 1900's. need to trace my roots since i'm getting older

Look my lastname is Tristan. My granfather was from Venado or Charcas San Luis Potosi, Mexico. He die in the late '60s ( I never met him). In my life time I have met two different families with Tristan as their last name one of them was from Galeana, Nuevo Leon and the other from CHarcas San Luis Potosi. If u can see the maps of NUevo Leon and San Luis Potosi and u will see that those towns together with Mier y Noriega are near to each other. I wish I would be able to help u more but I'm in the same situation, I don't know much about my family.
