I'm looking for free grant money to help with living expenses while in college, what sites can be trusted?

I would suggest checking out finaid.org's site about scholarships.  They offer some informative advice on the subject.

FastWeb.com is one reputable site I can suggest you check.  If you are looking for grants for next year starting in Aug it may be tough to find them at this time of year.  Most scholarship programs start their application process in Feb and close them by April and May.  I would still give it a look, you may find something out there.

You will always have to start their first. From this application your school can dertermine what grants you are eligible for and the amounts. This is a government site and the application is free. You can also check with your Financial Aid department at your school and they can also advise you on scholarship information as well as your individual status. Good Luck!
