I'm looking for ideas for an 'end of summer' party, rather than your typical BBQ...?

i am a junior in highschool, and im throwing an 'end of summer' party for the entire class. i was planning on lots of neon lights, cleaning out my garage and having lots of music. any other fun ideas?

Well food is almost always a must :)

If you don't feel like grilling, you could have wraps & cold meat sandwiches.

Maybe have a "photo shoot" area like there are at school dances-all you'd need is a digital camera!

Have a designated dance area! With music there's bound to be dancing :)

sounds like the making of a dance party to me! crazy loud music and dancing in the garage and maybe outside you could have a bonfire or something where people could go outside to eat and talk.

for my end of the year party I'm having a pool party so we can go swimming and enjoy our last days of summer vacation. then when it gets dark everyone is going back to my house to watch 80's horror movies. i picked 80's cause its cheesy so people wont get super scared but its also kinda nice to cuddle with a guy you like if a part is scary. that's what I'm doing and all my friends seem to think its a cool idea.

well you can have a swimming pool party and then have some of your friends sleep over and then have hot dogs, burgers, chips, sodas, lemonade, ice cream, water, and games for your friends to play

I've always liked theme parties... you know, where you can plan on a cute costume to wear with it.

I work with a girl that throws theme parties every year.

One year it was cats and dogs,

the next year (my favorite) was angels and devils

i'd say theme it something relating to the summer and with loud music, dancing, great food, summer-like decorations, and tell everyone to bring an extra pair of clothes and you and a couple of your close friends can suprise the rest of your class with water balloons and water guns. and having a pool won't be a bad idea, it could fit perfectly with the water balloons and water guns...

definately, have your party to be something relating to the summer, because you did say how you want it an "end of the summer" party... let this party mark a great end of the 2008 summer of classic summer fun.

and honesty BBQs are classic summer deals and well you could do it but change it up a bit... if all else fails.
