a job. I'm 18 and in college to be an elementary school teacher. I was thinking about day care or preschool, but I was wondering what other jobs are good for entry level people like me. It doesn't have to be with kids, but just not food or department type jobs. Also what would be some work to get experience for elm. teaching? for after graduating something I can put on my resume? i will greaduate in may '12 with my masters and I know most places want experienced people.

Thank you!

  1. A daycare is a good place to start and looks good on a resume.  I am not sure what your state laws are, but here in Missouri, after obtaining 60 college credit hours, you can become a substitute teacher.  This is a really good way to get your feet wet and also gives you a better chance with a particular school district once you begin looking for a job.  Also, you may want to check, becuase some states do not require a master's degree to teach.

I hope this helps and good luck with the teaching!
