Joseph Turner died in 1963 by carbon monoxide poisoning in blackpool with his girlfriend Mary Carmody. Joseph was around aged 33 at the time of his death. I am trying to trace anyone whos knows about this or knew of him as I think he could have been related to me.

If you do know anything please don't keep quite please get in touch as time has gone by and the truth needs to come out.

thanks.

  1. Go to your local register of deeds office where Joseph was born and tell them you want to do research on genealogy. You will be able to search birth death and marriage records. Maybe you can find a connection. If you look up his death record and find out his parents names then look up anyone with the last name of turner in births  but check the parents names on the record you should be able to find siblings. Also on the death certificate you should be able to find out who the "informant " was. This is usually a family member. Also if he owned a home or property you will be able to find out who that property was transferred to after his death.

Added: I would ask the police for a copy of the police report  also...maybe you can get a coroners report too.

  2. Is this the one, where I contacted the newspaper for you, I got you the story and the inquest report that was written in the paper. Did you receive them ?. Would you let me know please, you can edit your question.

Was Mary born in Ireland, ?. I would love to help on this one again.

Did you get a birth certificate for Joseph, that would have his place of birth on then you can ask specific questions, on the local radio and you could even write to the newspaper for his birth area.

His death was registered with Mary's in the J/A/S quarter of 1963, which is quite normal as there was an inquest. The volume number  is 108  and the page number is 360.

If you know where he was born Michelle that would help.

Found his birth details Michelle, they are  Joseph Turner. (mmn) Hollins, he was born in Burnley in the O/N/D quarter of 1929, the volume number is 8e and the page number is 197. You can order the certificate on line from

    http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

if you order on line they are £7:00 if you order by phone it costs £8:50  but in both cases you will need to use the volume and page numbers, without these numbers it gets really pricey as they have to search.

I found a lady by the name of Hannah Hollins born in 1912, in the O/N/D quarter in Aston which I believe to be in Staffordshire, although I have just checked a place index for the UK, and up till 1939 there were actually 7 Aston's registered. Anyway her mums maiden name was Palmer and the volume number is 6d and the page number is 665.
