I want to re-theme their bedroom to something more pre-school. Also, I want to avoid something to wild because we are going to be selling soon (in the next year) & I didn't want to have the shock effect & I don't want to spend a fortune either because this isn't going to be their forever room just the room that they are going to be in until spring or early next summer when we move & they each get their own room... I'm just tried of seeing the mint green we painted almost 5 years ago. I can't come up with any ideas good ideas.

  1. A color like yellow or light blue would be cute. Also if they don't already have big kid beds get those that would get them more excited about it too.

  2. If you're going to be moving soon I'd wait until you move and hopefully have them in their own rooms and you can then "theme" their rooms around their individual personality.

In the mean time go with a NUETRAL color paint in that room for selling purposes because people who are buyers like nuetral colors that they could match with nearly anything- mint green is definitely not nuetral.

  3. www.RockYourWall.com has a lot of cool things like Pottery Barn Teen and Kids for a lot less money. Check it out! Try a neat style tile bulletin board with colored dry erase tiles and cork board.

  4. awww twins hmm lets see you should put like dora the explorer everything for the girl and like pooh bear or the power rangers for the boy good luck ; )

  5. I would go with a neutral color, some shade of tan or off-white, so that you don't have to re-paint soon. To make it kid friendly, add wall decorations. A good theme in my opinion would be 'Pre-School'. At age 4, it's kind of hard to find a neutral theme between a boy and a girl. Buy pictures and wall hangings with numbers/letters/colors, etc. Don't go all out, because you will just be redoing it soon.

  6. I LIKE TO LOOK AT THE POTTERY BARN KIDS MAGAZINE AND FINDING CHEAPER VERSIONS OF WHAT I LIKE AND DECORATE THAT WAY. I USUALLY FIND STUFF AT TARGET AND OTHER CHEAPER PLACES. STICK WITH BASICS AND BRIGHT BUT NOT OVER BEARING COLORS. YOU CAN SEE THE POTTERYBARN KIDS WEBSITE AND IT WILL SHOW PICS OF ROOMS.

  7. How about just tossing in some items with a similar theme to bring it together?  Since they are opposite gender, I think a garden theme might be nice.

You can have flowers, butterflies, a pond, caterpillars, etc.  It would go well with the current color scheme, would suit both genders, and would be easy and inexpensive to find items which can be reused later in their individual rooms or other parts of the house.

    Have fun!

EDITED TO ADD:  Look for those wall stickers that are sort of like the window clings.  They stick to the wall and peel away without damaging the paint job.  They have some in the paint/wallpaper section of Wal Mart in various themes.

  8. I would suggest a yellow bedroom with a beach theme. Yellow is a good color for both young boys and girls and what kid doesn't love the beach? I may not suggest this if this was going to be their room for many years to come but since they are still young this color and theme should work. I hope this helps!
