I'm looking for some good Halloween party suggestions for tweens?

My daughter's birthday is on Christmas Day (she will be 12) but, it's hard to plan a party at that time. Plus my fiance's daughter turned 11 in March (which was right near Easter) We are trying to plan a Halloween party to celebrate instead. I already know about the game where you pass around "gross" things pretending they are body parts but, I am looking for more ideas. Something to not freak them out too bad but, enough to keep a few tweens interested! Thanks in advance!

  1. Have THEM help you think of things they (and their friends would like to do) - Make it a costume party; use some dry ice (not IN the punch, but under the bowl) for effect; let them help you decorate the house - (Go to Big Lots for lots of cool but cheap stuff) - spider webs and plastic spiders, spooky candleabras (with cool candles that drip "blood"), sheet ghosts (put these OUTSIDE near the windows), "tombstones" to line the walkway (let the kids make those - it's fun to make up silly names to put on them); make a mad scientists lab out of your kitchen (cool shaped bottles with different colored water in them, heads in a jar - shop for stuff like this at Spencer's or a Halloween specialty shop) - OH!  go online and find Oriental Trading - they have some good stuff for really cheap, too!  Check out the checkout lines for little "cookbooks" for cool and creepy recipes that look great.  If you let the kids help, they'll love whatever it is you come up with.  Have fun!!!!!!!

Oh, yeah, if anyone is gonna stay after to sleep over, watch movies - "Hocus Pocus" is funny; "Practical Magic" is definitely a "girly" movie about witches and Halloween; depends on your guidelines as to how scary you'd want to go with that.

  2. You can have a bunch of grils dress up in gowns. Make it a beauty pagent or something. But then turn it into a murder mystery

  3. costume contest!!!!

    haunted house

sorry that's all i can think of right now

i'm not in the halloween spirit yet =[
