I own a collection of FDC of 22 carat gold replica stamps from the sumner collection. The introduction page page reads; "Charter Subscriber, 22ct gold stamp replicas collection" it has the signature of director (who's name i cant quite make out) that could be 'Graham Webster Gardener'?? I'm interested to find out as much as I can about the collection.

Thanks.

  1. I am a numismatist not a stamp collector but about 10 years ago a person I know had 2 albums one was Golden Replicas of United State Stamps, it says on the album 22kt gold proof replicas. The other album is Great Americans on U.S. Stamps and they are mint condition historic stamps with matching 22 kt gold replicas. There are a total of 130 FDC's and I paid $100 for it all. Since then I have seen them for sale as singles from $2.95 to $5.95 each. The came from the Postal Commemorative Society and on one album Steve Gordon is the director. From reading in of all places the weekly coin magazines, I find that more than one company used the same idea.  This is the most I know at least right now. I bought them for some fit into my displays of historic coins.
