I'm a current college student just taking basic courses. However, the programs CAD/ Inventor have been something i hold knowledge in since high school where i won a state competition and very much like the challenge. My question is to an experienced professional is it in demand or have you had problems keeping your position for amount of students entering the field?

  1. My buddy graduate with a degree in MET a year ago. And he had tons of offers after college, like any other engineer some were interesting and some were not his style. He held out for something that paid more and was right up his alley.

Now he works for a defense contractor designing submarines. He loves it and the pay is awesome, the benefits are great and the work is very detailed plus technical.

    Good Luck

  2. A mechanical engineering technology degree is not regarded like a traditional mech engineering degree.

In the US it is viewed more of a technician level position rather then a professional engineer.  IMO.

Also be sure and go to an accredited school for your degree.
