I'm looking for specific favor ideas...?

Question

In lieu of wedding favors, my fiance and I are going to make a donation to a national pit bull rescue (a cause close to our hearts). However, I would still like my guests to receive something, so that I can include a tag explaining our donation and the cause along with our names and wedding date.

I'd like some ideas of what that "something" could be, especially any dog themed ideas. I don't want to spend too much per favor, as that will defeat the purpose of donating the money.

I hope I can explain this well enough...If you have a printer...you can design a dog bone with what ever you want for information printed inside the bone... ex. Mr. and Mrs. xxxxx in honor of their wedding on xx/xx/xxxx have given a donation to the Pit Bull Rescue. (like magnets you might pick up at a vets or groomers) Place multiples of this to cover an entire page. Then just print them off on sheets of the magnet paper.  You can buy these magnetic sheets at even WalMart I believe.  Then cut them apart. You would have your names and wedding date as well as the cause that means so much to you, everyone can take them home and put them on their fridges and seeing it every day may get them to give a donation as well?!

See if you could find some small pit bull figurines (not sure where you could get them...if you search the net you'll probably find them...). Add a ribbon in your wedding colors for the "collar" and attach a note saying "Matt and April Jones" are making a donation to the national pit bull rescue in lieu of a "traditional favor. Or something like that.

Talk to the pit bull rescue, perhaps you could get some nice looking pens or magnets from them?  

I think a card alone would be fine since the donation is the "real" favor.

I think Dog Tag Necklace, with  the engraving on one side to say Donated to National Pit Bull rescue with a heart.and a web site or a 1-800 number.  And then on the other side Mr & Mrs John Doe ,  Wedding Date.   with a paper dog tag attached with wedding ribbon colors stating the reason that you chose to do this instead of going traditional.  good Luck & Congrats!

make or buy cookies in the shape of dog bones, then attach a ribbon in your wedding colors and a note explaining the donation. then they guest get something that they will eat and you shouldn't have a bunch of favors left over this way.
