Using a JVC camcorder, which records .TOD files.

  1. Are you adding "real" subtitles or do you just need to add a bit of text here and there?  If it's the latter, then just about any NLE should be able to do it.

    I've never had to do subtitling, but here's a link to some tools that may help.  .TOD files are a form of MPEG, so that could give you problems if you need frame accurate subtitles - you might need to convert to a lossless format before you add them.
