  1. hospitals always need volunteers.

  2. Just go to the organization you're interested in and ask if they want volunteers.  You may have to fill out an application form and/or hand in a resume.  You will most likely need to hand in a Criminal Reference Check and CPR/First Aid certification.  If they take you on to become a volunteer you'll probably have to fill out and read a package of policy papers and contracts, emergency info sheets, etc.

Chance of places hiring you as a volunteer are good because places always need extra help and they don't have to pay you.

  3. I know teens that have volunteered to help out with a free summer camp for kids in my city. You should check to see if you can do that where you live.

  4. Try this website:

    http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk/index.as...

It has job/volunteer positions in childcare and also the addresses of nearby setting you can send CV too!

    Childcare:

    -Primary School classroom assistant

-Volunteer assistant at a preschool or playgroup

    -Playworker

    -volunteer at creches.

    Adults:

-Volunteer at the old peoples home (oops residential home)

-Contact local adult learning centre or disaabled centre

    -Hospitals/hospices nearby

Places such as these always appreciate the support!

  5. There are many places you can volunteer; camps, hospitals, scouts, preschools, daycare, YWCA and YMCA etc. Usually if you work with children you will need fingerprint check. Senior homes and centers probably could use people to read to the residents, do their nails or hair and just to visit.

  6. http://wwv.org.uk/      has a whole range of volunteering projects.

    good luck!

  7. A lot of pre schools tend to be parent run committee charities, so having someone go in voluntarily would be a big bonus to them, especially if you have some thing special to offer, like doing music with them or physical development type play, even arts and craft or doing reading time would benefit the setting where the children can often get fed up of listening to the same person reading to them day in day out.  I would contact any local settings and see what they have to say.  I am sure they would be delighted to have some one volunteer.

  8. hospitals, ymca, ywca, women's shelters, homeless shelters are always a great place to volunteer.  years ago i volunteered at a women's shelter.  i worked with the kids there on art, music, field trips, tutoring.  very rewarding.
