  1. Sure, if you have the financial resources and the time.  Although adopting a kitten is a great idea, consider adopting an older cat.  It will probably already be litter box trained, and the adults don't get adopted as often as the kittens because they don't have the "awww look at the cute baby" factor.

  2. Go to the pound and let your daughters pick away. Get a cat that is litter-box train and get all its shots. Get a cat that they both agreed on and get ALL the supplies like:

    food

    bed

    toys

    litter-box

    litter

Iams cat food (it works the best but went til you get ur cat)

  3. well u should if u can love it feed spend time with it u should not if u are go away  kind of person or forgets to feed it but other than that u should

  4. Only you can make the decision on if you have the time, space and resources to devote to rasing a kitten and giving it proper care.

Edit:  Since you are getting the kitten for your daughters keep in mind that you need to want the cat too.  Children frequently tire of pets and after the novilty wears off they don't want to be responsible for it any more.   Cats can live for 15yrs or more  so the cat will be around long after your daughters have gone off to college etc so make sure you want the cat also before taking on the repsonsibilty.

  5. Just adopted a kitten from a local shelter.  Its a great thing.  There are a few things to watch for.  Make sure they have healthy eyes, look at the ears for any type of debris, may indicate ear mites, look for fleas.  Take to the vet for a check up to make sure he/she is healthy.

  6. yo should because thousands of cats are killed every year because people are unwilling to adopt and because cats are truly amazing and lovable animals i highly recommend getting one! the only reason you might not want a cat is if you go on business trips often or work more than a 9-5 job good luck!
