I'm looking into getting a 50cc gas scooter?

Question

i'm considering the honda metropolitan or the keeway venus scooter, what would you pick? the met is a 4 stroke while the venus is a 2 stroke. met has a base price around $1,899.00 while the venus is closer to $1,400.00. the price between the two isn't a big deal for me, i'm just looking for quality and performance. i'm leaning towards the met but they seem to be harder to get this summer.

I don't know much about scooters but i do own dirt bikes and minibikes and i will tell you, 2 strokes suck. Id say get the Met

First, I would suggest only buying a scooter that local shops will fix.  Vespa shops will not fix honda scooters.  honda shops will not fix Keeway.  So ask around your local shops and make sure you can get someone to work on it.  Second, where is the Keeway made?  Scooters made in Japan, Korea and Taiwan have much better reputations than scooters made in China.  Third, how long has Keeway been making scooters?  A company with at least  five years in the market can be searched for how their scooters hold up over time.  Good luck and have fun!

I have a 2000 yamaha zuma, great little scooter, ride 20 miles every other day to work on it, great mileage, goes about 40mph, it has 8500 miles on it very reliable, I ride it on gravel roads everyday, even ride it through ditches like it a dirt bike scooter, the zuma is sportier looking, the zuma you can get 80cc kits for it if you want more speed, but they are pretty snappy, you can go 0 to 40 pretty quick.  and other thing, 2 stroke don't suck, I actually love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning!!

Depends what you want it for. If you want to go to work and save gas, Please spend a little more its worth it. The Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Its like 3500$ New. You can get a used one for like 2000. Then you will have a much better ride. TRUST ME. and you can go on the freeway. Also you still get like 60MPG
