  1. It totally depends on where you want to move to.  Do you want to move into the heart of Sydney, or would u like to move out to Suburbia?  How much are you willing to pay for rent and/or would you like to live or board with someone else as well?

Stating "young professional" doesnt really give me a picture of what you do for a living so i have no idea what exactly your looking for with employment.  But most administration, IT, upmarket business jobs are located in the heart of Sydney.  There are many jobs out in the suburbs - it just depends how far out your willing to go.

Rent on average (if your living by yourself) in the city can cost you as much as $450 for an apartment or unit.  Its so expensive because your paying for the ultimate location.  The East is very expensive as well (because your located closer to the beaches) and the North and South can be expensive as well.

If your looking to save a few $$$'s moving out to the west would be the ideal.  The next biggest City District apart from the heart of Sydney is PARRAMATTA.  Parramatta is located 20-25mins west of Sydney and is a direct link on the CityRail train line.  The rent is still expensive, but somewhat cheaper than further in.  There are also just as many job opportunities in this area as well.

Utilities such as electricity, gas (optional), phone and water bills come to you every 3 months as a statement.  The price of the bills depends on your usage so i'll just give you some links with the prices of some of these utilities instead.  (there are just too many prices).

To get an idea about rental prices i'll give you some real estate links you can look at and you can find some prices in there.

Also remember this - the rental market in Sydney is now becoming VERY slim as it is now in high demand.  The price of houses to buy has gone through the roof. So people are opting for rentals instead.  You need to get in as fast as you can and also have wads of cash to guarantee that you get what you want.  If you dont have that type of money on hand look at boarding with other travellers and look in the newspapers for rooms to rent (instead of full on apartments.)

There are some links below for you to look at.

    Cheers and Good Luck!

  2. It depends were you want to stay in sydney, all suburbs have diferent rental ranging from 300 to 700 australia dollars per week.food 100, utilities 100, etc ect. maybe you should stay in the usa with bush.

  3. All my bills including rent, phone, car insurance, gas, electricity, internet and health insurance come to about 5 hundred dollars a week. Rent is between 150 and 250 a week for most places. I only pay 500 a month but I'm in a big share house. Lots of people say the eastern suburbs are the best because it's easy to get home from the city, but I also like Crow's Nest and Manly in the north and Glebe in the inner west.
