The motherboard: ASUS p5kpro Socket LGA775 FSB 1333/1066 4x240pin with ddr2 1066 standard memory it supports crosfire has 2 pci express 16 slots.

The Processor is The intel core 2 duo e8400 3 GHZ 6MB l2 cache LGA 775 socket 65w FSB 1333mhz 45nm chip.

The graphics card i'm using is the sapphire model 100226L It's PCI 2.0 x 16 and radeon 3850 I plan on using two of them in crossfire mode, my mother board supports two slots.

The ram i Plan to use is OCZ Platinum 240-pin ddr2 Sdram it's 2x1gb ddr2 1066 speed cas latency 5 timing 5-5 5-15

The power supply monitor speakers mouse keyboard ect i'm taking from my powerspec 6002 Although I'm doubtful the powersupply or fan will be able to accomodate these new components.

Any useful insight is welcomed as well as suggestions, these are just within my budget, atm and I'd really like some feed back.

Anyone who asks me to quit smoking or go to a computer forum can go F**** themselves thanks in advance :D

  1. My understanding is that you plan on using two different cards in crossfire? Use the same card or one will throttle the other's speed.

Make sure you have all of the following parts:

Case, Power Supply, Hard Drive, CPU, CPU Fan, Video Card, Sound Card, Motherboard, Optical Drive, Operating System

Do not skimp on your power supply. You're entrusting your entire computer to a steady stream of reliable power. I would invest in an OCZ power supply of at least 500W.

Also, I'd consider the OCZ Reaper ram - I love the heatsink technology and it runs at even tighter timings.

As a shameless plug to myself:

I made a high end gaming machine for a friend that runs Crysis on high settings and games like World of Warcraft with 200 FPS normally and up to 300 FPS.

Unfortunately, he hit upon tough times and is now unable to go through with the transaction. I'm leaving for the University of California at Berkeley in a couple days and cannot take another computer with me.

At this point I'm just trying to break even. You would pay me the cost of the parts, $987.70 as well as shipping/paypal fees (or whatever other method of payment you prefer).

Effectively I built and overclocked the machine for free. This computer just needs to move before I do.
