I'm looking to buy a birthday gift for my boyfriend, any ideas?

My boyfriend however is leaving to go to a military academy which limits my gift options even more, help!

Depending on when he's leaving, you should do some ol' role playing of his favorite female actress or singer with oils, music or even a toy or two:).The best present is the one he can see even when with his eyes closed even if he's in battle:) Oh yeah, a bracelet or something in that area would be nice, but present it well and memorable...if you know what I mean;)

You could just get him a fun day of memories of the two of you.  Get yourself a camera if you don't have one (a disposable one will do) and go with him to some local place to hang out or be active all day...and stay in part of the day if you wish.  Take pictures together, put it into a little book, and give it to him for while he's at the academy.  It's a fun day, good memories, and pictures to remember it and you by.
